Former President George
Bush recounts his experiences during a forum marking the
10th anniversary of the start of the Gulf War's decisive
ground offensive. « I honestly thought, and so did
every Arab leader, that given the pounding Saddam Hussein
took, he couldn't survive » Bush said. « He did, but he did
through total brutality of his own people. We underestimated
the tyranny. »
