College Station (Texas), February 23, 2001:

Former President George Bush recounts his experiences during a forum marking the 10th anniversary of the start of the Gulf War's decisive ground offensive. « I honestly thought, and so did every Arab leader, that given the pounding Saddam Hussein took, he couldn't survive » Bush said. « He did, but he did through total brutality of his own people. We underestimated the tyranny. »
